Ballasalla 1 28-8 Route 1 Atoms
This game began as one for the defenders, both sides marking well to keep the score low. Ruby Thompson kept a good eye on the play for Route 1 to pounce on loose balls, and Shannon Hands dominated the defensive circle for Ballasalla. The score at quarter time was 5-1 to Ballasalla. The second quarter saw both shooting circles settle, each having their highest scoring quarter. At half time, Ballasalla continued to lead 16-4. Route 1 fought back in the third quarter and were able to slow the pace of the Ballasalla attack. Olivia Quayle made her mark on the game helping to gain possession for Route 1, but so did Ballasalla’s Goal Defence, Trinity Hebden, getting some great hands to passes. Ballasalla still had the advantage going into the final quarter but Route 1’s Kate Doran was determined not to give in and made some lovely moves in the shooting circle and got on the end of some great rebounds. Ballasalla continued to score, but now with goals also coming from Nessa Farren who was moved into the circle from the centre court. The final score was 28-8 with Players of the Match going to Ruby Thompson (Route 1) and Nessa Farren (Ballasalla).
