Being an official is a critical role in any sport - offering leadership, guidance and a sense of order. Netball is no exception. We have a wealth of options for you to explore as either an umpire or technical official. 

Umpiring Pathway

Umpiring Courses

Beginner Umpiring Course

• The aim of this course is to build confidence and provide a basic understanding of the key netball rules. It is a mixture of theory and practical. The course will provide learners with a general overview of the key rules of netball and their application
• Minimum age to attend the course is 12

C Award Course

• The aim of the course is to prepare learners in meeting the competencies for both the written and practical assessment of the C Award
• Minimum age is 13 for attendance, 14 for practical assessment

B Award Course

• The aim of the course is to prepare learners in meeting the competencies for both the written and practical assessment of the B Award
• Minimum age is 14 for attendance, 16 for practical assessment

A Award Course

• To apply for support in moving forward with the A Award please contact development@netball.im
• Minimum age is 16 for attendance, 18 for practical assessment

Our Membership Portal details all the Technical Official courses that are on offer. Booking an Assessment

You can book your assessment via the Membership Portal. Once you have booked it and met the relevant criteria, an assessment pack will be sent to your email address.
