Missfits A 28-44 Simcocks Red Eagles

For the second time this season Missfits A were up against league title hopefuls Simcocks Red. The first time these 2 met Simcocks took the win 54-14. With a full strength Simcocks side this was always going to be difficult for Misfits especially missing Rebecca Dunne in the shooting circle and Emma Riley still on maternity leave.

Both sides started strongly with Simcocks Claire Belcher Smith at C linking up well with shooters Chloe Gale and Sarah Corkish. The Missfits defensive duo of Lisa Quilliam and Tilly Davies turned over a few missed chances and at quarter time the score was Simcocks 12 - Missfits 5.

In the second quarter Missfits Bek Dalrymple moved into WA with Suzanne Gray into unfamiliar territory as C. The pair linked up well with shooters Hannah Riley and Lauren Ellison and the score finished 26-12 to Simcocks at half time.

Missfits saw the return of Hollie Quaye just 12 weeks after giving birth to her 3rd child. Quaye started the second half as C from her usual WD position and her speed and fitness enabled the play to move quickly and increase goal scoring opportunities for Riley and Ellison. The third quarter ended 35-21.

Simcocks showed their strength and depth in the shooting circle by rotating in Catherine Cassidy from the WA position and with Hannah Leece working tirelessly at WD. Simcocks took the win 44-28.
