PWC Jades started the game strong and quickly led 3 – 1 within the first few minutes. Some clean interceptions from both teams slowed the scoring down and all players demonstrated consistent game play in the centre third. Jades GD made it difficult for Castletown’s attack to get the ball into the shooting circle. Strong marking from Castletown’s defence put pressure on Jades attack and caused them to pass out of the circle. The first quarter ended 8 – 1 to Jades.

Both teams came out fighting in the second quarter with strong game play down the entire court. Jades shooters stayed consistently accurate to bring their lead to 10 – 1. After a brilliant interception by Castletown’s GD (Holly Charmer) Jets were able to secure their second goal. Equal interceptions from both teams meant the first goal of the third quarter took a while to secure. After a strong centre pass and accurate shooting from Castletown’s GS (Amy Potts) Jets were able to score another goal.

Both teams dug deep for the final quarter and worked hard to create opportunities for their players. Gems GD made another fantastic interception to bring the ball back into Jades attack. Castletown’s players worked hard to apply pressure and get free for passes. Castletown’s hard work paid off with another goal scored by their GA (Holly Greenwood).

Final score was 26 – 4 to PWC Jades.
